Suitcase or travel bag: which is better?
Hard-shell suitcases are the ultimate luggage for air travel. They protect your belongings from getting wet, can cope with rough loading and unloading and are made for the extreme weather conditions in the cargo hold above the clouds. Soft-sided suitcases or trolleys are a great alternative for the cabin or a short trip, especially in smaller sizes. Although they offer less moisture protection, they are more flexible when packing and lighter overall. With both types of suitcase, pay particular attention to the quality of the wheels and the telescopic handle. If you have a lot of transfers or stairs to negotiate and are only travelling for the weekend, the travel bag is practically unbeatable

Travelling safely with a suitcase or travel bag
To make your luggage recognisable wherever you go, personalise your suitcase or travel bag with tags, stickers or colourful packing straps. Avoid putting valuables inside your case, always keep those on your person. To be on the safe side, take photos of the contents of your bags or suitcases so that you have proof of what has gone missing in an emergency – never leave your luggage unattended! To prevent leakage of cosmetic liquids, place aluminium foil between the lid and bottle.
