Halloween falls on 31st of October each year. This year (2026), it falls on a Saturday and most children will be on half term, so prepare for a week of trick-or-treating and Halloween parties at the weekend!
In the UK, favourite activities include dressing up in costumes, trick-or-treating, carving pumpkins, decorating the home with spooky Halloween decorations and getting together with family and friends for a Halloween party.
Many people will dress up in Halloween costumes depicting characters from horror films such as vampires, ghosts, witches and zombies.
For simple designs, such as the Jack-O’-Lantern face, we recommend a large or monster pumpkin. You may want to choose a medium size pumpkin for more intricate designs.
