    Lidl Helping Drive Postive Change

At Lidl, our commitment to sustainability is guided by six core principles: Protecting Climate, Conserving Resources, Promoting Health, Respecting Biodiversity, Acting Fairly, and Engaging in Dialogue. These pillars shape how we deliver great value while helping customers make more sustainable choices - without compromising on quality or price.

We’re proud of the progress we’ve made. From our Live Well bean, which highlights healthy products aligned with the Planetary Health Diet, to a £30 billion commitment by 2030 to British farming and sourcing 100% of our British fruit and veg from LEAF-certified farms. We’re also a longstanding supporter of the NSPCC, having raised over £10 million since 2017 to fund vital services including their night-time Childline services.

Through our Feed It Back network, we redistribute over 12 million meals a year and our Lidl Foodies programme - now in over 10% of British primary schools - has helped more than 200,000 children embrace fruit, veg, and healthy eating in a fun and engaging way. Because at Lidl, value means more when it's sustainable.

    Planet, Producers And People

Whether it’s promoting efficient use of resources, sourcing in a fair, sustainable way or making nutritious food available for families, we’re committed to making sure we make a positive difference. We believe in doing good for our planet, the producers we work with and the people in our communities.

Caring for the PEOPLE in our communities

We’re proud to have donated over 43 million meals to date through our surplus and customer food donation programmes in-store.

    2. Farm, fields, simple design.

      Supporting our PRODUCERS

All our core fresh poultry, beef, pork, milk and eggs are British and we’re investing £15 billion in British food and farming over the next 5 years, as well as supporting young dairy farmers through the Grassroots partnership.

    3. Hands holding a plant: a symbol of care and growth.

      Protecting our PLANET

We’ve removed 1 billion pieces of plastic from our stores, are working to cut own-brand plastic packaging by 40% and have reduced food waste in our stores by over 30% – working to achieve 50% by 2030.
