    Terms and Conditions of Participation - Scratchcard Scheme


    Lidl Great Britain Limited (hereinafter referred to as “Lidl”) is conducting a promotion called the Scratchcard Scheme (“Scheme”) for a chance to receive a digital reward coupon(“Reward”) which is only available to registered Lidl Plus Members (see https://www.lidl.co.uk/lidl-plus and the Help section of the Lidl App for more information on Lidl Plus). By participating in the Scheme you will be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions of Participation.


    1) Entry Criteria


    a) a) This Scheme is open to residents of the United Kingdom (excluding Northern Ireland) aged 18 years old and over who are registered Lidl Plus members and users of the Lidl App (the Lidl App can be downloaded from the "App Store" or on "Google Play ") ("Participant" or "you").


    2) Participation


    a) The Scheme will start on 26/03/2025 and end on 14/05/2025. The Scheme consists of one promotion (the "Promotion") which runs between 00:01 on 26/03/2025 and 23:59 on 14/05/2025 (inclusive) (the "Promotional Period").


    b) To enter the Promotion:


    i) you must complete a purchase of at least one item from a Lidl GB (excl. NI) store which is not infant formula or a gift card during the Promotional Period and identify yourself as a Lidl Plus customer whilst paying at the checkout by scanning the digital Lidl Plus customer card at the till;


    ii) once you have completed your purchase, in accordance with clause 2(b)(i) above, you will automatically receive a digital scratchcard (“Scratchcard”) on your device via the Lidl App; and


    iii) you must be eligible to enter the Promotion and click on the Scratchcard, so that a digital scratch field appears and then partially scratch the digital scratch field. You will be deemed to have entered by partially scratching the digital scratch field on the Scratchcard, or clicking on 'Reveal Scratchcard' at the top of the Scratchcard page, seven days after you have made a purchase.


    c) Lidl may from time to time use push notifications that you can enable to receive a notification on your device that you have a Scratchcard available to use via the Lidl App. Enabling push notifications is not a requirement to enter.


    d) Multiple entries to the Promotion are permitted, however you must also allow at least 60 minutes between purchases in order to be eligible to receive a further Scratchcard during the Promotion.


    e) The Scratchcard shall appear under the ‘Prizes’ heading of the 'Home' section of the Lidl App.


    f) You will find out whether you have won or lost shortly after either (i) partially scratching the digital scratch field, or (ii) clicking on 'Reveal scratchcard' at the top of the Scratchcard page. Overall, all of our Scratchcard games issued in each Promotional Period contains a Reward (as defined below).


    g) Winners of the digital reward coupon ("Reward") will be chosen automatically through a software based on parameters set by Lidl which produces a verifiably random result.


    h) If you win, the Reward will be displayed shortly afterwards in the 'Coupons For You' section of the Lidl App. The Reward will expire within 7 days of either (i) partially scratching the digital scratch field, or (ii) clicking on 'Reveal scratchcard' at the top of the Scratchcard page (please see the additional criteria for redemption under clause 3 below). The Reward can only be redeemed against future purchases at Lidl branches in Great Britain (excluding Northern Ireland) and in compliance with the Reward terms and conditions available when you click on the Reward in the Lidl App.


    i) Lidl reserves the right to substitute the Reward with an alternative reward of the same or higher value in the event that the original Reward offered is not available.


    j) Once a Scratchcard is redeemed or expires, it automatically disappears from the Lidl App. Redeemed or expired Scratchcards cannot be re-used or recovered.


    k) Scratchcards are non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.


    3) Rewards


    a) The Rewards include the following:


    (i) one reward issued per Lidl GB (excl. NI) store in the Promotional Period:


    the value of the shop (excluding any spend on infant formula or gift cards) you made when you were awarded the applicable Scratchcard off your next shop (up to a maximum of £20 off);


    (ii) one of the following rewards which are issued at random and split equally across all days in the Promotional Period (as far as mathematically possible):

    b) The Reward is displayed to the winner as a digital coupon in the 'Coupons For You' section of the Lidl App and is subject to the redemption criteria below and the Reward terms and conditions available when you click on the Reward on the Lidl App. Note that the Rewards are not available in a physical format, and cannot be printed.


    c) The redemption criteria for the Reward is as follows:


    i) Rewards are only redeemable in Lidl branches in Great Britain (excluding Northern Ireland) by the Lidl Plus account holder who must be 18 years old or over;


    ii) Rewards must be presented at the time of purchase at the till and Rewards can only be redeemed on a subsequent purchase (not on purchases already made);


    iii) Rewards must be activated by clicking an activate button and redeemed during the specified validity period (as stipulated in these terms and/or on the Reward);


    iv) Rewards are non-exchangeable, non-transferable and non-refundable;


    v) Rewards are not for resale or publication;


    vi) Screenshots, pictures or online printouts of Rewards will not be accepted; only original Rewards within the Lidl App are valid;


    vii) the full Reward discount must be used in a single transaction and alcohol, infant formula and gift cards do not count towards Reward spend amount. No change will be given;


    d) Only one Reward for a discount on an overall spend can be used in a single transaction and Rewards which give a discount on overall spend in a single transaction cannot be redeemed on alcohol, infant formula or gift cards.


    e) Any other product range specific discounts provided by Lidl can be used in conjunction with a Reward which gives a discount on the overall spend in a single transaction and the product range specific discount will be applied to the transaction first.


    f) More than one product or product-range specific coupon or in store multibuy which relates to the same product cannot be activated at the same time or used in the same transaction. When a Reward is used alongside an in-store multi-buy offer, Lidl will work out which gives the customer the greater discount and only apply that coupon or offer.


    g) Lidl reserves the right to replace the Reward with an alternative Reward of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond Lidl's control makes it necessary to do so.


    h) Once a Reward expires or is redeemed, it automatically disappears from the Lidl App. Redeemed or expired Rewards cannot be used or recovered.


    4) Liability


    a) If we fail to comply with these terms we are responsible to you for loss or damage that you suffer which are a foreseeable consequence of us breaking these terms, or any losses or damage you suffer as a result of our failing to use reasonable care and skill.


    b) We do not accept any responsibility to you:


    i) if you are unable to access the Lidl App to access Scratchcards and redeem Rewards due to there being no or limited WLAN connection available through your mobile device; or


    ii) for any losses or delays in transmission of messages, Scratchcards and Rewards arising out of the use of any Internet access service provider or mobile network service provider or caused by any browser or other software which is not under our control.


    c) We do not exclude or limit in any way liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation or for failing to use our reasonable care and skill in providing the digital Scratchcards and Rewards.


    d) We are responsible for damage to your property if the digital Scratchcards or Rewards we have supplied via the app damages a device or digital content belonging to you. We will either repair the damage or pay you compensation. However, we will not be liable for damage could have been avoided by following our advice to apply an update to the Lidl App, for damage that was caused by you failing to correctly follow installation/download instructions or your unlawful use of the app.


    e) Lidl accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure of any kind.


    5) Cancellation


    a) Lidl reserves the right to void, cancel, suspend, or amend the Scheme without prior notice for reasons beyond its control. Lidl may make this decision:


    i) for technical reasons (e.g. viruses in the system, manipulation or hardware or software failures, etc.); and / or


    ii) for legal reasons, if the Scheme cannot be carried out in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of Participation,


    we will let you know as soon as possible and take steps to minimise the impact.


    b) If the cancellation is caused by unlawful and culpable conduct on the part of a Participant, Lidl has the right to claim compensation for any damage suffered.


    6) Disqualification


    a) Participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions of Participation by scratching the digital scratch field on the Scratchcard. Lidl reserves the right to refuse entry, or refuse to award the Reward to anyone in breach of these Terms and Conditions of Participation.


    b) Lidl reserves the right to exclude Participants without prior notice and to prevent their participation.


    c) All users who use prohibited means for participation (e.g. hacking tools, viruses, Trojans, etc.) will be excluded.


    d) Participation in the Scheme by groups of players, automatic services or professional services is not permitted.


    7) General


    a) The decision of Lidl regarding any aspect of the Scheme and is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.


    b) Data charges may apply when using the Lidl App.


    c) The Scheme will be governed by English law and entrants to the Scheme submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts.


    8) Promoter

    The Promoter of this Scheme is Lidl Great Britain Limited, Lidl House, 14 Kingston Road, Surbiton, KT5 9NU.

    Terms and Conditions of Participation

    Lidl Plus Scratch Card Scheme


    These Terms and Conditions of Lidl Great Britain Limited, Lidl House, 14 Kingston Road, Surbiton KT5 9NU (the Promoter) shall apply exclusively to your participation in the Lidl Plus Scratch Card Scheme (the Scheme) for a chance to win a digital coupon (Prize Coupon or Prize Coupons).


    By participating in the Scheme you will be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions. With your consent, your personal data will be disclosed to Lidl Great Britain Limited by Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG, Stiftsbergstraße 1, 74167 Neckarsulm, Germany to operate the Scheme.


    1. Opening / Closing date & time

    1.1. The Scheme will start on 06:00AM on 5 June 2025 and end on 23:59PM on 30 June 2025 (inclusive) (the Promotional Period).


    2. Entry Criteria


    2.1. This Scheme is open to residents of Great Britain aged 18 years old and over who are registered Lidl Plus members and users of the Lidl app (Participant or you). The Lidl app can be downloaded from the "App Store" or on "Google Play".


    2.2. Employees of Lidl (Lidl Employees) may enter the Scheme and are eligible to win Prize Coupons.


    3. How to Participate


    3.1. To enter:


    3.1.1. you must complete a purchase with a minimum value of £0.01 (excluding gift cards, charity donations and infant formula) from a Lidl store in Great Britain (Qualifying Purchase) between 06:00AM on 5 June 2025 and 23:59PM on 30 June 2025 inclusive (Promotional Period) and identify yourself as a Lidl Plus member whilst paying at the checkout by scanning your Lidl app at the checkout;


    3.1.2. once you have completed your purchase, in accordance with clause 3.1.1 above, you will automatically receive a digital Scratch Card game (Game or Games) on your device via the Lidl app which will appear on your Lidl app home screen. The Game may take up to 24 hours to arrive to your device; and


    3.1.3. you must click on the “Play” button, so that the Game appears and then click on the Scratch Card, so that a digital scratch field appears and then partially scratch the digital scratch field. You will be deemed to have entered by partially scratching the digital scratch field on the Scratch Card, or clicking on 'Reveal Scratch Card' at the top of the Scratch Card page within 7 days after you have made a purchase (Scratch Period).


    3.2. Lidl may from time to time send push notifications, that you can enable to receive on your device, about Games or Prize Coupons available to use via the Lidl app. Enabling push notifications is not a requirement to enter.


    3.3. Multiple participations are permitted, however you must also allow at least 60 minutes between purchases in order to be eligible to receive a further Game.

    3.4. The Game or Games shall appear under the ‘Prizes’ heading of the 'Home' section of the Lidl app.

    3.5. You will receive a Prize Coupon shortly after tapping the green button in the middle of roulette wheel. All Games issued in each Promotional Period contain a Prize Coupon (as defined below).

    3.6. Your Prize Coupon will be displayed shortly afterwards in the 'Coupons For You' section of the Lidl app. The Prize Coupon will expire 7 days from of either partially scratching the digital scratch field, or clicking on 'Reveal Scratch Card' at the top of the Scratch Card page. The Prize Coupon can only be redeemed against future purchases at Lidl branches in Great Britain (excluding Northern Ireland) and in compliance with the Prize Coupon terms and conditions available when you click on the Prize Coupon in the Lidl app.

    3.7. Lidl reserves the right to substitute the Prize Coupon with an alternative coupon of the same or higher value in the event that the original Prize Coupon offered is not available.

    3.8. Once a Game is used or expires, it automatically disappears from the Lidl app. Used or expired Games cannot be re-used or recovered.

    3.9. The Games are non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.


    4. Prize Coupons


    4.1. The Prize Coupons are digital coupons for selected products only. The product options will be allocated by Lidl based on stock availability at the time.


    4.2. Prize Coupons are not available in a physical format, and cannot be printed.


    4.3. The redemption criteria for the Prize Coupon are as follows:


    4.3.1. Prize Coupons are only redeemable in Lidl branches in Great Britain (excluding Northern Ireland) by the Lidl Plus member who must be 18 years old or over;


    4.3.2. Prize Coupons must be presented at the time of redemption, at the checkout. No minimum spend required;


    4.3.3. Prize Coupons cannot be redeemed on purchases which have generated the coupon, or on purchases already made; they can only be redeemed on subsequent visits;


    4.3.4. Prize Coupons must be activated by clicking an activate button and redeemed during the specified validity period (as stipulated in these terms and/or on the coupon);


    4.3.5. Prize Coupons are non-exchangeable, non-transferable and non-refundable;


    4.3.6. Prize Coupons are not for resale or publication;


    4.3.7. Screenshots, pictures or online printouts of Prize Coupons will not be accepted; only original Prize Coupons within the Lidl App are valid


    4.4. More than one product or product-range specific coupon or in store multibuy which relates to the same product cannot be used in the same transaction. For example, when a Prize Coupon is used alongside an in-store multi-buy offer, Lidl will work out which gives the customer the greater discount and only apply that coupon or offer.

    4.5. Once a Prize Coupon expires or is redeemed, it automatically disappears from the Lidl app. Redeemed or expired Prize Coupons cannot be used or recovered.

    8.3. The Scheme will be governed by English law and Participants to the Scheme submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts except that if you are a resident of Scotland, you may also bring proceedings in Scotland.


    9. Promoter


    The Promoter of this Scheme is Lidl Great Britain Limited, Lidl House, 14 Kingston Road, Surbiton, England, KT5 9NU.


    10. Data Protection


    10.1. Details of the data controller:

    Lidl Great Britain Limited is the controller for the processing of the personal data of each Participant. Lidl Great Britain Limited has appointed a data protection officer who is available at: data.protection@lidl.co.uk.


    10.2. Categories and origin of the data:

    In order to operate the Scheme, the following personal data will be disclosed to Lidl Great Britain Limited by Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG, Stiftsbergstraße 1, 74167 Neckarsulm, Germany:

    10.2.1. customer ID of each Participant in the Scheme;

    10.2.2. the first name and surname as well as the e-mail address and telephone number of each Winner.

    Furthermore, Lidl Great Britain Limited may collect any other personal data required to send or hand over the Prize Coupons directly to each Winner.


    10.3. Purposes and legal bases of processing:

    Lidl Great Britain Limited will use the personal data collected to operate the Scheme (e.g. drawing winners, notifying winners, sending the prize). This processing takes place because you have given Lidl Great Britain Limited your consent (Art 6.1.a GDPR). Photographs or videos of the Winner could be taken during the Prize giving; these may be published together with the name and hometown of any Winner in promotional media of Lidl Great Britain Limited (e.g., press release, lidl.co.uk, employee magazine, Facebook). The processing of this data is based on our legitimate interest so Lidl Great Britain Limited can promote itself and its prize draws (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). In addition, there is a public interest (in particular on the part of the other participants) to see that a prize draw is taking place and prizes are being won. You have the right to object to your personal information being published or made available, or request to reduce the amount of information published or made available. You can exercise these rights by emailing: data.protection@lidl.co.uk. In such circumstances, Lidl Great Britain Ltd must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Agency if challenged.


    10.4. Recipients/categories of recipient:

    Data is only transferred to third parties where this is necessary for the implementation of the Prize Draw (e.g. sending the Prizes via a logistics company) or in order to publish any Winner (e.g. on Facebook). Apart from that, we do not transfer the data to third parties.


    10.5. Storage time/criteria for determining storage time:

    At the end of the Prize Draw and announcement of each Winner, the personal data of each Participant will be deleted.


    10.6. Rights of data subjects:

    Participants have the right to obtain information, free of charge, about the personal data stored about them. In addition, a Participant has the right to request the deletion or restriction of processing of its personal data as well as the right to receive a copy of the data in a structured format. A Participant has the right at any time to object to data processing that is necessary in order to protect legitimate interests of Lidl Great Britain Limited or a third party. Where a Participant has provided its consent, it is entitled to withdraw consent at any time.


    10.7. You have the right to make a complaint with the Supervisory Authority in the United Kingdom which is the Information Commissioners Office (ICO). A complaint can be lodged with ICO on its website at: www.ico.org.uk or by contacting their helpline on 0303 123 1113.
