Keep Scotland Beautiful is your charity inspiring action for our environment. They work to help combat climate change, reduce litter and waste, restore nature and biodiversity, and improve places. Helping to inspire changes in behaviour to improve our environment, the quality of people’s lives, their wellbeing and the places that they care for.

We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Keep Scotland Beautiful for a week of action across Glasgow to help wrap up #SpringCleanScotland2024

#SpringCleanScotland2024 is their annual campaign which brings people together from across Scotland to tackle litter and this year will be taking place from the 15th March – 28th April. Lidl are delighted to be sponsoring the final week between Friday 19th April – Friday 26th April, and we are keen to get our customers and employees involved.

Keep Scotland Beautiful’s Scottish Litter Survey, published at the end of 2023, found that 90% of people agree that litter is a problem across Scotland, the highest figure in three years. Data also shows 85% of people agree that they want to see more efforts to prevent litter in their area.

We will be hosting 4 litter pick events around the surrounding area of the Lidl Stores between 10am-12pm to demonstrate allyship and support the people of Glasgow. For every piece of recyclable litter collected, we will use our new reverse vending machines to recycle these, with 5p per item donated to the Scottish TV Appeal, aligning with our commitment to the Glasgow Recycle Scheme.
