To our valued Lidl customers

During these challenging times, we all need to make sure we’re doing our bit to help keep ourselves and others safe. With this in mind, we’ve put together a few things to remember the next time you visit one of our Lidl stores.

Busy store times

Traffic Lights

To help you plan your next store visit, we’ve put a traffic light system in place so you can find the quietest time to shop. Of course some stores will vary slightly, and make sure you check your local store opening hours too.

Wearing a face covering in store

Our Customers

Wearing a face covering in our stores is mandatory in Scotland, England and Wales in line with government regulations, to help keep everyone safe.

Our colleagues may remind customers of the requirement to wear a face covering in our stores. However, we understand that some customers are exempt from doing so*.

Forgotten your mask? Don’t worry, these are available to pick up at the entrance of our stores, to then purchase at the till when you complete your shop.

A gentle reminder, when purchasing age-restricted products, you may be asked to temporarily remove you face covering by store colleagues to verify your age.

Our Colleagues

We have provided face coverings to our colleagues who will wear these when working on the shop floor, and where necessary when working behind a screen.

Exemptions apply

Exemptions apply for customers and colleagues with medical conditions.

Changes to our bakery

Whilst we always urge customers to use the tongs provided in our bakery, as a temporary measure, you’ll also notice there are disposable gloves for you to use in order to bag loose items yourself, safely. We're continuing to monitor this area of our store, and will change the way we’re doing things if necessary.

Contactless Payment

Increased contactless payment limit – now £45

We’ve increased the contactless payment limit in all of our stores, from £30 to £45.

Please pay safely using contactless whenever possible, or card payments for transactions over £45 .

Social distancing in store

Maintain social distancing and keep yourself a safe distance away from other customers and from our colleagues, including when queueing at our checkouts.

Supporting those who need a helping hand

We are committed to providing a safe and positive shopping experience for all, and understand that certain measures we currently have in place to support social distancing may present challenges for some of our customers.

We pride ourselves on forming close connections with you, our customers, and our store teams regularly provide additional support for individuals that we serve on a regular basis.

Should you require any extra assistance, the following support is available:

- An assistance bell is located at the entrance of stores, and a member of the team will provide further assistance when the bell is rung.

- If there is a queue at the entrance of the store and you have difficulty queuing, make yourself known to the security guard or member of the team at the front who will give you priority entry.

- Our teams will take the opportunity to explain any changes that have taken place in store and ensure that you are aware of new facilities such as our cleaning station, providing support where required.

- We have communication materials around the store in large font, detailing changes in place, and we have introduced customer information audio announcements, which include social distancing awareness.

- Whilst we are encouraging customers to shop on their own where possible, if you require assistance with your shopping you may be accompanied by someone that can support you. This also applies to single parent families and their children.

- If you are unable to complete your shopping whilst adhering to the social distancing measures we have in place, a member of the team will safely support you in doing so.

- If you require any further assistance, please speak directly to a member of the team who will be happy to help.
