To our valued Lidl customers

During these challenging times, we all need to make sure we’re doing our bit to help keep ourselves and others safe. With this in mind, we’ve put together a few things to remember the next time you visit one of our Lidl stores.

Keeping everyone safe

 

We’ve put a crowd control system in place to help manage social distancing in our stores. This includes positioning security guards or designated team members at our store entrances to keep track of how many customers enter our stores at one time. You’ll also notice messages around our stores to remind everyone about the importance of keeping a two-metre distance from one another when shopping.

Rest assured we are continuing to work closely with the government during these challenging times to ensure the correct measures are put in place in our stores, for the safety of both our team members and customers. 

Latest updates

We're donating fruit and veg bags to NHS workers

We are working in partnership with Royal Voluntary Service to donate thousands of fresh fruit and vegetable bags to hospital sites across the country, and into the hands of frontline health workers.

Product quantity limitations

We’ve now lifted our volume restrictions on all items apart from toilet paper, and are reverting to our previous policy of allowing all customers to purchase ‘usual household’ quantities again. This is, as ever, at the store manager’s discretion and we still ask for your continued consideration for our colleagues and other customers when you come into store.

 

Changes to our bakery

Whilst we’ve always urged customers to use the tongs provided in our bakery, we know that at the moment, many of you would like our baked goods to be displayed a little differently. So, as a temporary measure, our teams will be pre-bagging all bakery items for you. We’ll continue to keep an eye on this, and change the way we’re doing things if necessary.

Checkout protection screens

You might notice something a little bit different the next time you’re shopping in one of our Lidl stores. We’re currently installing cough and sneeze proof screens at each of our checkouts, to help protect both our store teams and you, our customers. 

Protective visors for our store teams 

The next time you visit us in store, you’ll notice our team wearing protective visors. This is to keep both our teams and you, our customers safe throughout the day.

Opening hours

Our stores are open, but make sure you check our store finder as our opening hours will have changed during this time.

Product quantity limitations

We've put product quantity limitations in place on a select few product lines to ensure availability for as many customers as possible, and we would ask that customers respect these measures. Please see in store for more information.

Our stores are replenished every day

Our stores are being replenished every day. That item you want to buy ‘just in case’, might be essential for someone more vulnerable who can’t visit the store multiple times.

  • Contactless payments

    When possible, please use contactless or card payments.

  • Don't buy more than you need

    Buy only what you need - our stores are being replenished every day.

  • Wash your hands

    Wash your hands often and avoid contact with your eyes, nose and mouth.

Be nice to other customers and store teams – after all, we’re together in this. A little kindness goes a long way during these difficult times.
