I hate throwing food away but there’s always so much leftover at Christmas. How can I cut own on waste?
Reducing food waste is so important, especially at such an indulgent time of year. Firstly, be realistic when shopping – you know who is coming over and how much they eat, so plan ahead! Make good use of your freezer for things like mince pies and even roasted veggies, which can be turned into a soup later in the month. Also, research your closest food bank ahead of the Christmas period – they will really appreciate any unopened food you don’t use.
