LIDL Nutrition Information Guide – clear and informative
We want to make your shopping as easy and transparent as possible. Therefore in the coming months, many LIDL own brand food products will include precise details of nutritional values and calories. A table shows you at once how many calories and which nutrients a product contains – expressed in each case as a percentage of the recommended daily allowance for an adult. This will make shopping at LIDL easier and help you to eat more healthily.
The diagram on the front shows you 5 important pieces of nutrition information for the product. This includes the number of calories, the amount of sugar, fat, and saturated fats and the salt content. |

GDA: Guideline Daily Amount per portion

The Guideline Daily Amount (GDA) is based on the recommendations of an international scientific committee (CIAA – Confederation of the Food and Drink Industries in the EU) and refers to the daily requirement of a middle-aged woman with an average amount of physical activity. The daily requirement of the individual varies according to gender, age and physical activity. For example, men often need more calories and nutrients than women.
On selected products, our Nutrition Information Guide also tells you about the benefits of the most important nutrients such as protein, carbohydrate or fibre. On smaller packaging the nutrition information is correspondingly displayed in a more basic format. Usually the seven most important ingredients as well as the energy amount are declared.
